VfL Bochum is starting its preparations for the new season in a week, beginning with medical examinations and performance tests. Coach Uwe Rösler will call the team to the first training session on Thursday, and four new players, including Berkan Taz and Enis Cokaj, are expected to join. However, the squad planning at Castroper Straße is not yet complete. Another player in discussions is Yigit Karademir from VfL Osnabrück. The Bochum management is also looking for fast offensive players for the wings. While Oliver Issa Schmitt from SV Meppen is no longer being considered, Daniel Sumbu from Sturm Graz is mentioned as a possible option, although he is not yet a major topic.

A familiar name, Farid Alfa-Ruprecht, who was loaned from Bayer Leverkusen last season, could also be loaned again. In 26 second division appearances, the 20-year-old scored three goals and provided two assists, indicating his potential. However, Alfa-Ruprecht, who is also being considered by Hannover 96, is not seen as an optimal solution since a permanent signing is not possible. The VfL Bochum management plans to secure players with long-term potential to generate transfer income later.

Loan deals are still possible, especially towards the end of the transfer period. However, the Bochum officials want to prioritize signing players who have the potential to strengthen the club in the long run. The coming days could bring further reinforcements as preparations for the new season are in full swing.
